Forum Title: Phenix Carpeting
I'm considering purchasing Phenix Stainmaster carpeting for my home. The carpeting will replace 20 yr old dense, plush carpeting (still in pretty good shape!), 2 adults, 2 children (6 & 8 yrs), 1 small dog, medium to heavy traffic areas. Specifics on the carpet: Saint Simons, 100% Stainmaster solution dyed BCF Nylon 6,6. Is this a good carpet to choose? Also looked at Mohawk and Shaw carpets, but get lost in their many choices. If Phenix is not a good choice, any suggestions?

Do You know what ounce carpet this is .Look at the yarn or napp and count the twist in the carpet fiber.

no, don't know the weight yet, but it's pretty dense, plush style. Just measured the height and twists - btwn 1/2 and 5/8 tall, 7 twists. Will only consider nylon, although I've heard polyester has made advancements recently that makes it almost on par with nylon. Not sure I believe that though. quote from the retailer for this Phenix carpet was around 3.79 Sq ft. Seems like a decent deal....just not sure.
